DESCRIPTION

The fire protection system for the Upper Tanana Health Center (UTHC) located in Tok is supplied from a well and well house located on the property. The water for the fire suppression is piped from the well house to the UTHC in a 6” HDPE foam insulated pipe. Freeze protection is provided with a 1” PEX recirculation line. In late March 2023 the 6” line broke. This RFQ is for mechanical services to repair the break. All work done under this contract must be covered by a one year warranty. Please submit questions to Jeffery Murtiff via email at jeffery.murtiff@tananachiefs.org. Please provide a proposal to Jeffery Murtiff via email by May 5 2023, 1 PM AST. Tanana Chiefs Conference reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals. Alaskan Native and Native American owned business will receive bidder’s preference.

 

SCOPE

  1. Coordinate all activities with Tanana Chiefs Conference or its representatives on site.
  2. Coordinate activities with the excavation contractor on site.
  3. Provide all traffic barriers and cones as required to perform the repair.
  4. Provide photos of the break once the water line has been day lighted.
  5. Have on site new 6” pre insulated HDPE on site in sufficient lengths to make repairs without adding stress to the water line.
  6. Utilize HDPE repair couplings to repair the break in the 6” HDPE line.
  7. Utilize Pro Press fittings to make any repairs in the 1” PEX re circulation line
  8. After the repairs have been made, hydro test the 6” and 1” lines for 2 hours at 90 PSI
  9. Reconnect the 6” line in the well house and in the crawl space of the UTHC.
  10. Coordinate a 12 hour static pressure test with Tanana Chiefs Conference or its representatives on site prior to allowing the pipe to be insulated.
  11. All test MUST be witnessed by Tanana Chiefs Conference or representatives.
  12. Provide photos of all repairs.
