The State of Alaska Division of Regional and Community Affairs has information on each community that can be helpful for planning and grant purposes. - The State of Alaska Recorder’s Office has title documents for all land in Alaska. You need to know who owns what when you are doing any land use planning related to adaptation planning, and to get funding for improvements or buyouts on specific properties.

- FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is key for adaptation grants related to construction. Grants are highly complex and you usually need to hire a grant writer, but this site provides some basics. Tribes can apply directly to FEMA if they have their own hazard mitigation plan (HMP) or a joint plan with the city and the plan has been updated in the last five years.
- State of Alaska Grants The State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management passes through a lot of FEMA money. The advantage to applying through the State is that the State will pay the cost share; however, a tribe must compete with many other sub applicants.
- The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tribal Climate Resilience Program provides small amounts of funding for planning and data gathering efforts.
