Resolution 2021-15: Contractor to assist tribes with appointments and errands

WHEREAS, Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is an Alaska Native tribal health and social services consortium established by the Interior Alaska tribes and tribal communities, to provide a unified voice in advancing sovereign tribal governments through the promotion of physical and mental wellness, education, socioeconomic development and culture of the Interior Alaska Native; and

WHEREAS, Currently tribal members in residential facilities in Fairbanks do not have adequate escorts or transportation to and from appointments and TCC does not have the staff capacity to provide this service; and

WHEREAS, Tribes are in need of a service to run errands to vendors and other tribal and tribal member business located in Fairbanks; and

WHEREAS, TCC has the ability to run a background check and set-up the necessary accounting paperwork so that a tribe can hire an individual on assignment basis for escorts and errands.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Tanana Chiefs Conference Full Board of Directors directs staff to advertise or seek individual contractor(s) and undertake the necessary background checks and accounting paper work so that the tribe is able to easily hire on assignment.
