Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) has been hearing the concerns from our Tribes and Tribal members regarding potential federal funding cuts, including reductions to federal grants and Medicaid. These changes will impact Tribal Health Organizations like ours that rely on these funding sources to provide essential services to our Tribes and beneficiaries.
Our priority has always been, and will always be, ensuring that our Tribes and Tribal members continue to receive the essential services they rely on. TCC leadership is actively monitoring the situation and assessing the potential effects on our programs. Our team—including administrators, subject matter experts, and both internal and external legal advisors—is working diligently to evaluate these impacts and develop plans that will keep our essential services operational.
The good news is that TCC remains in a strong financial position. Our leadership has always taken a fiscally responsible approach, allowing us to navigate challenges with stability and resilience. While we remain confident in our ability to continue serving our communities, we are also taking proactive steps to safeguard our future and minimize any disruptions to the critical services our people depend on.
As Indigenous people we are resilient. Throughout our history, we have faced countless obstacles, yet time and again, we have proven that our strength is greater than any challenge. Even in these uncertain times, we draw upon that same resilience and the wisdom of our elders and ancestors to remain united in our purpose.
TCC is committed to transparency, and we will continue to keep our Tribes and communities informed as we move forward together.
