Something serious has come to our attention in the Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) region: fentanyl-laced drugs.
Fentanyl is a powerful drug that is much stronger than morphine. It is used in hospitals for severe pain, but it is also being mixed with other drugs illegally, putting people at risk of overdose.
Fentanyl is super strong – even a tiny bit, just 2 milligrams, can be deadly. Recently, there have been reports of people overdosing on fentanyl in our area. This is a big concern and we need to take it seriously.
The TCC Wellness & Prevention Division is aware of the situation and is working to help our communities. They can provide a medication called Naloxone, which can reverse an opioid overdose quickly. If someone is overdosing, Naloxone can save their life.
The TCC Wellness & Prevention Division also has a lot of information about opioid misuse, how to prevent overdoses, and ways to get help if you or someone you know is struggling with drugs. It is important to learn about this so we can keep ourselves and our friends safe.
In short, fentanyl-laced drugs are a serious problem in our area, but we can do something about it. Stay informed and reach out for help if you need it. Let’s work together to keep our communities safe and healthy!
