Seven communities plan for future

TCC is happy to announce that through the Planning & Development program, seven communities adopted a community plan in 2020-2021. These communities, who did not let the pandemic stop their progress included Alatna, Birch Creek, Circle, Eagle, Tanacross, Tetlin, and Chalkyitsik (adopted in 2021). The communities identified goals and objectives to help plan for future economic development.

Community plans that are currently expired includes Dot Lake, Evansville, Galena, Kaltag, McGrath, Northway, Ruby, Takotna, Tanana and Venetie. Community plans set to expire in 2021 includes Anvik, Beaver, Fort Yukon, Grayling, Manley Hot Springs, Nulato, Stevens Village and Shageluk.

The P&D Program can award up to 5 Community Planning Specialist (CPS) per cycle, with 3 cycles available, Spring, Summer and Fall. Each cycle is advertised and requires the Tribe to submit a Tribal Application, Resolution and Nominee Application. The Tribe hires the CPS nominee of their choice and TCC reimburses the Tribe, and provides training and mentorship. As a tribally hired employee, no background check is required.
