About the Issue: The Native vote is crucial because it empowers Indigenous communities to have a say in shaping policies that directly impact their lives, such as healthcare, education, and land rights. By participating in the electoral process, Native Americans can advocate for their unique needs and promote representation that reflects their diverse perspectives and priorities.

Fact About the Native Vote
According to the 2020 Census data, it is estimated that Alaska Native people constitute 22 percent of the statewide population. If all Native people voted during a normal turnout year, approximately 25 percent of the electorate at the polls would be Native.
The turnout rate among American Indian and Alaska Native registered voters is 1 to 10 percentage points lower than the rate of other racial and ethnic groups
