On March 17th, 2022, the Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) Full Board of Directors appointed Brian Ridley to serve as Chief/Chairman of the organization until 2023 to fulfill the remaining term of the previous Chief/Chairman.
Brian Ridley is Han Gwich’in and a tribal member of the Native Village of Eagle. Ridley grew up in Eagle on banks of the Yukon River. Ridley previously served as Chief Finance Officer of Tanana Chiefs Conference from 2008-2021.
As Chief/Chairman of TCC, Chief Ridley has the responsibility to ensure the 42 tribal entities and 20,000 tribal members are provided quality health care, social services and tribal government technical assistance.
In addition to the appointment of the new Chief/Chairman, elections were held for several seats on TCC’s Executive Board:
- Sharon Hildebrand of Nulato was elected as Vice-President
- Nancy James of Fort Yukon was re-elected as Yukon Flats Subregional Representative
- Lori Baker of Minto was elected as the new Yukon Tanana Subregional Representative
