2024 Reclaiming Our People Summit

The Reclaiming Our People Summit, organized by Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC), took place on February 21-22, 2024, in Fairbanks. The event welcomed both the general public as well as Tribal representatives. This event was designed to address Behavioral Health and Wellness concerns in the TCC region by fostering collaboration among Tribal Leaders and community members. With a focus on prevention efforts, the summit aimed to support rural communities.

The summit served as a platform for sharing insights, strategies, and solutions to enhance the overall well-being of the communities in the TCC region. Tribal leaders and community members had the opportunity to share their first-hand experiences, ask questions about services available and provide input on ideas for improvement.

Breakout sessions were held during the event, based on subregion, to discuss the needs in each area of the TCC region. Based on feedback from Tribal leaders, TCC will be working to develop subregional Reclaiming Our People plans to address the issues around behavioral health needs, substance use, prevention and justice in our villages.

TCC would like to thank all of those who attended the summit and shared their stories. TCC is committed to continuing our efforts to improve our services to better meet the needs of our Tribes, Tribal members and patients.
