2022 Holiday Recipe Competition

2022 Wellness and Prevention Holiday Recipe Competition

The holiday season is a time of celebration and thinking about our loved ones. For some, this time of year can also present many challenges. The Wellness and Prevention Division is encouraging everyone to find ways to support each other during the holidays. Participating in the Holiday Recipe Competition is a great option to help with this! This is one of many ways to stay connected with family and friends and spread holiday cheer in healthy way.

Many of us have experienced loss, and some use alcohol or drugs to cope.  This season, instead of being around our party-going friends or being alone, we can help each other by strengthening our armor or protective factors by choosing to get together with others in a healthy way. Connect with your family and help the youth prepare something for the “Best Kid’s Entry” prize! Talk to your elders to learn their favorite recipes and strengthen your connections with your culture and traditional values when you compete for the “Best Subsistence Entry”!  Or help spread some cheer and gratitude while you prepare something for the “Best Giftable Entry”.

Some of the best ways to help promote wellness and sobriety and to help prevent suicide in your community is get back to the basics and really be present with one another. We hope everyone in the TCC regions has a safe and delicious holiday season.  We can’t wait to see your recipe submissions! Read more about our competition rules and ways you can win prizes below!
