Description

This course will be held provide hands on tools to advocate for the protection of your traditional way of life. This course will supply an introduction to the state and federal game management systems in Alaska, the operations and process of the regulatory system and rule making, and a provide hands on learning workshop session for understanding local regulations and developing recommendations/actions for change as needed to provide for traditional hunting practices.

At the completion of this course students will be able to:

  1. Describe the basic context of federal and state management of wildlife in
    Alaska;
  2. Identify the components of the federal and state regulatory process;
  3. Identify localized regulations that do allow for traditional hunting practices;
  4. Identify proposal changes to localized regulations to allow for traditional
    hunting practices.
